The Caribbean

caribbeanmap

The Caribbean is one of the most popular tourist areas in the world. The region consist of the Caribbean Sea, its islands and the surrounding coasts. Situated largely on the Caribbean Plate, the region comprises more than 7,000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays.

The geography and climate in the Caribbean region varies. However, the region enjoys year-round sunshine, divided into 'dry' and 'wet' seasons, with the last six months of the year being wetter than the first half.

Some islands in the region have relatively flat terrain while others possess rugged towering mountain ranges like the islands of Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. Year after year, millions travel to the small, scenic islands of the Caribbean. World-renowned for their mile after mile of bleach-white sand , unearthly blue waters, fruity rum drinks and spices that make the region famous.

Caribbean travel offers so many different kinds of culture and history that one trip is not enough to see it all. Every island has such a unique identity that is hard to see just one.
